Norman: A Growing City on the Horizon
Norman is a city in Oklahoma that is twenty miles south of downtown Oklahoma City. It is the third-largest city in Oklahoma with a population of about 118,000 residents. In 2008, CNN’s Money Magazine ranked Norman as the sixth best small city within the United States. Norman has a wide variety of neighborhoods such as Downtown Norman, which consists of restaurants, art galleries, and other businesses. Another neighborhood, Campus Corner, is home to many students of the University of Oklahoma, the largest university in the state with approximately 30,000 students enrolled. Norman enjoys many cultural attractions such as the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History, the Moore-Lindsay House, and the Catlett Music Center. Norman features 55 neighborhood and community parks that boast amenities such as disc golf courses, a swimming complex complete with water slides, and tennis courts.
